Hello all,
I’ve been spending time the last few months exploring a long-time concept of mine. In the Gallery section you will find VFTP, Visitors From The Past. It will be dedicated to paintings influenced by Japanese author Hideyuki Kikuchi. These paintings traverse ideas about who we are on the surface, who we are deep down, and who we used to be. After a lot of trial work composing these ideas and images I’ve released three pieces thus far. Later this fall I’ll begin work on another new and even larger piece. I’m very excited to see what continues to come. Contact me any time with thoughts or questions.
Thanks for participating.

I am underway on a new series of paintings that will be significantly larger and more vibrant than previous works. Here is a preview of the first one to be done on a 2’ x 2’ board. A lot of little gold leaf detail will be showing up on this piece.
This is my go to surface to paint on-the Ampersand Encausticbord. I’ll be doing a brief rundown in the near future on their products and why I love them so much.
Thanks for looking,
-HSZ
