A few FAQs are listed below.

Questions regarding commissions or anything else are always welcome.

FAQs

Q1: Can I see your paintings anywhere at the moment?

A1 I will post updates on any shows, new work and other relevant information here on this site. For smaller updates and additional photos, follow me on Instagram @harrizahn.

Q2: Can I commission you to do a portrait?

A2 Absolutely! Whether you want a portrait to remember someone, just for fun or any other reason, I enjoy creating a unique piece you can be proud to own or give as a gift.

Q3: What all is involved in the commission process?

A3 Depending on the scope of the painting, a time frame and price will be set. Then, when possible, I will meet with the client/model so I may take photographs of him or her. This allows me to ensure the end product is of the highest quality. You may choose which photo will be used for the painting or if you prefer, I will gladly choose a photo to use.

Q4: Is a deposit required for a commissioned painting?

A4 Yes, a deposit is required to ensure material costs are covered as well as the time and effort that goes into the planning and creation of each painting.

Q5: What about framing a painting?

A5 There are three framing options. You can have the painting unframed, I can have it framed or you can request the painting be cradled. A cradle is essentially a wood frame fixed to the back of the painting, that is only visible from the sides. It gives a clean, modern look. A cradled piece can be hung without problem.

Q6: Is your art done with charcoal or paint or something else?

A6 All of the portraits you see here are done with oil paint. The only other material used on portraits is gold or copper leaf.
